Matt Schwartz

I wanted to look at Matt Schwartz because, although he is a photographer and not a graphic designer, his photographs have a very nostalgic feel to them, and I thought I could try and use his style of working in my own work. He creates his photographs by taking large format polaroids, pulling part the film and rubbing the negative onto water colour paper (polaroid transfer).

I decided to try and recreate a similar feel to these photographs in my own photographs by editing them on photoshop.

This picture uses the water paper filter, and I like the effect of this filter. I also think it is reflective of Matt Schwartz's work due to the contents of the image, as it includes a turning page in a book.
I used the ink outlines filter for this picture, and I like the outcome of it, as it reflects the uncertain, hazy feeling when looking back on memories and feeling nostalgic.

I used the texturize filter on this picture, but I don't think this effect works as well as the others to reflect a feeling of nostalgia, as I think the outcome is too bright, and the lighting isn't reflective of the work by Matt Schwartz.
This is using the water paper filter, and I think this effect works really well to reflect the theme of nostalgia and the style of matt schwartz.
I just edited the brightess/contrast of this picture, and i don't think the colouring works particularly well, but the hazy, unclear efferct could reflect characteristics of memories, which links to nostalgia.
